Invocations: A Concert with Bisan Toron and Simone Giuliani

Join us for an evening of spontaneous compositions with Bisan Toron & Simone Giuliani. In this intimate gathering, the artists will tune into and explore music that arises from stillness. 

“Invocations” is burning away everything except the heart’s truth -  offering what endures to the audience. 

All the music performed during the concert will be created instantly.

Bisan Toron is a vocal artist and voice teacher. Born in Syria and raised in Paris and New York, Bisan studied classical voice performance at NYU and holds masters in Ethnomusicology from the University of London, School of Oriental and African Studies, where she focused on the topic of music, identity, and the 'search for home,' through the fusion music of refugee populations and ethnic minorities. She did further studies in voice and improvisation with the Roy Hart-based company, Pantheatre, in France. Bisan's music is informed by a multitude of cultures and vocal traditions, which she threads with vocal articulations that arise from the moment.

Simone Giuliani is a music director, music producer, film composer and artist born in Florence, Italy and based in New York and Los Angeles. Simone has worked for the past two decades with an array of international artists: Andrea Bocelli, London Symphony Orchestra, Royal Philharmonic Orchestra and many more. He wrote the soundtrack of 'Deep Into Shambhala' that won Best Music Award at the 8th China Academy Awards for Documentary Film.
