The Sorig Institute is the American branch of Sorig Khang International (formerly the International Academy for Traditional Tibetan Medicine). Sorig Khang (Tib. གསོ་རིག་ཁང་) loosely translates as “medicine house”, a place where healing work is practiced and shared.

Complete training courses and short workshops in Tibetan Medicine and Kunye Massage as well as group practices and retreats in the Yuthok Nyingthig tradition are offered at our center, Pure Land Farms in Topanga, California, and at our branch centers throughout the United States.

The Sorig Institute is an approved NCCAOM Professional Development Activity provider. PDA Points (CEUs) will be offered to licensed acupuncturists upon the completion of approved Sorig Institute courses.

For a bodhisattva who wants to achieve enlightenment there is no greater obstacle than illness! When living beings are burdened with an ailing body, the spirit cannot be at peace. How can perfection be achieved under such circumstances? The bodhisattva who strives for enlightenment must therefore first heal the afflictions of the body.
